Gavin Brady | Age:19 | Conditioin: Cyclomania | FC: Aaron Tveit | OPEN
Gavin is a walking paradox. Many of his personalities traits contradict one another. He is still very much trying to find himself. In many situations he is a confident young man with a brilliant smile, yet in just as many he is a shy, reserved individual who doesn’t find anymore around him worthy of conversation. One can never be sure which side of Gavin they are going to get on any particular day. This phenomena stems from his disorder. It is a mild, more volatile form of bipolar disorder. Gavin can be going through the troughs of a bout of depression for the first part of the week, and then later the same week be in the grips of a joyous manic episode. It’s not really mountain and valleys more like a series of speed bumps right after one another. Up, down, up , down, up, down in a vicious cycle. Gavin coped by performing. The stage became a place where he could channel his manic times into productive energy. Only when he was off stage and crashing the effect became more profound. Sometimes the constant shifting of his moods made him nauseous. He yearned for stability that evaded him. Gavin took to writing songs. Journals stacked up around his room like towers. His mother snooped one day reading his words. They worried her. When she confronted him he confided in her what he was combating with. Deciding together they chose Brookhaven as the best option. Gavin has high expectations that this school will let him finally get off this endless roller-coaster.
